Personal Property rights under attack in Chatham!

Dr. Michael Sanera, John Locke Foundation Research Director, issued a press release in November stating the results of his study of the Chatham major corridor plan.

In the name of preserving the aesthetic benefit to people driving through county, the Board of Commissioners is attempting to take over 23,000 acres for their personal benefit.

Read the entire policy report and let the BOC know it’s not OK to take on personal property rights.

Unaffordable Housing

Chatham County BOC is in the process of converting the affordable housing task force to full advisory board status. If results from other municipalities are any indication the policies that come from the board will result in higher home prices and be one more means of government controlling private property.  We need to be aware of the FACTS and address them before anything becomes law.

Dr. Michael Sanera has written a well studied piece on the subject. Please click here to read the executive summary or the entire report.

The County Commissioners are considering making housing even more unaffordable. See press release and indepth comments below about impact fees.
